Precautions

Use only one card at a ticket gate.

Touch your PASMO firmly to the card reader.

If you do not touch it firmly enough against the card reader, the ticket gate doors may close on you or you may be charged the wrong fare. In some cases you might not be able to use your PASMO the next time you try to enter or exit the station.

PASMO cards cannot be used only to enter a station without the purpose of traveling.

PASMO cards cannot be used for the purpose of sending other travelers off or to visit shops within the station. Please contact the railway company for information on entering stations for these purposes.

Do not bend, apply strong force to, or stick things on your PASMO.

Doing so may cause your PASMO to become jammed in ticket vending machines and fare adjustment machines or damage the card. This may also prevent your PASMO from being read correctly at ticket gates.

Some services are not available during late night/early morning hours.

Services such as processing and reissue of lost or damaged cards, and refunds are not available between 12:50 am to 5:00 am. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

PASMO can only be used to board trains within the usable service area.

PASMO cards cannot be used to travel from a PASMO/Suica Tokyo Metropolitan area to an area not serviced by PASMO. When traveling to areas beyond the usable service area, please purchase a normal ticket instead of using your PASMO card to travel.

PASMO cards cannot be used for alternate transportation in the event that trains become inoperable.

However, PASMO commuter passes and Suica commuter passes can be used for alternate transportation if said transportation in within the commuter pass section.
Please contact the railway company for more information.

Please visit a service desk immediately if you lose your named PASMO card or PASMO commuter pass.

If you lose your named PASMO card or PASMO commuter pass, please complete the necessary procedures through a PASMO retailer.
Suica retailers can also help you with the necessary procedures in the event that you lose your PASMO.
