Topping up your PASMO

Topping Up at Stations

PASMO cards can be topped up at ticket vending machines or charge machines in stations in denominations of 1,000 yen. Instructions in English are provided in most machines, and so we recommend this as the most convenient method to top up your PASMO card without having to worry about language issues.
The maximum balance for all PASMO is 20,000 yen.

Topping Up on Buses

PASMO cards can be charged on buses in denominations of 1,000 yen. Just let the bus driver know that you would like to charge your PASMO. You cannot charge your PASMO on the bus if your remaining balance is over 10,000 yen.

Topping up at Shops

PASMO cards can be topped up at some shops that accept smart cards such as PASMO and Suica. Please ask at the particular shop for more information.

We also provide a PASMO auto-charge service that allows you to top up your PASMO by simply touching the PASMO card to a ticket gate. You can quickly and conveniently top up your PASMO card without needing to prepare cash or wait in lines for ticket vending machines.
You must register beforehand to use the auto-charge service and must have a valid credit card. Please visit your nearest service desk for more information.
